Redondo Union High School is quickly approaching 100 years of organized baseball, 1915 - 2015. Through the years the team can take credit for the hits and the pitches, but that team is created and molded by the head coach.
A wide variety of personalities have held the position; from the first coach, Ralph Detter, who was primarily a science and math teacher, to Hobart “Hob” Uhls, who was a multi-sport coach and teacher who eventually became a district trustee retiring after 55 years of education.
From Jim Bridewiser who came to RUHS from the MLB and a storied career with the Yankees and three World Series titles, to Harry Jenkins who played for Coach Bridewiser and was inspired by him to become a teacher and a coach.
And the two that are still coaching Sea Hawks today, Tim Ammentorp who held the position 1989 - 2008 and Jeff Baumback who is the current coach taking over the helm in 2011.
